FAMILY CENTERS
Realizing Potential Through Continued Self-Reflection
THE CHALLENGE
A continual pursuit to increase impact
Family Centers offers a multifaceted network of education, health, and human services to thousands of children, adults, and families in lower Fairfield County. With more than 200 professionals and 4,000 trained volunteers, Family Centers regularly (every two years) engages in continuous planning that:
- Engages diverse stakeholders
- Examines key issues
- Identifies clear and measurable goals
THE OUTCOME
A measured process discovering areas of impact
The Strategy Group has been hired for several of Family Centers’ strategic directions initiatives to conduct a comprehensive environmental scan, assess staff engagement and satisfaction, identify key themes and critical focus areas, and lead a full-day board/staff retreat. During the day-long retreat key leaders from Family Centers:
Define and shape the critical issues that will be their focus for the next two years
Identifying and implementing measurable strategies to address the issues
In 2022, the key themes that emerged were governance (board development and succession planning), programs & services (including facilities development), talent (recruitment and retention), and financial sustainability.
